Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer for Colorado, New Mexico and far west Texas, is seeking applications for a Branch Shop Manager in Hayden, CO.

The Branch Shop Manager is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the service department; advising and making recommendations to the Branch Parts & Service Manager with respect to the best interests of the Company and wherever service department activities are involved and in a manner that reflects the companys vision of working as One Professional Team.

* The Branch Shop Manager is responsible for, within the limits of the authorized policy, procedures, programs and budget and has commensurate authority to accomplish the duties that follow:

* Consults with Branch Parts & Service Manager in reaching an agreement on annual departmental objectives and carries out programs in order to reach the set objectives

* Hires, trains and directs a working staff sufficient to efficiently perform the highest amount of service work and to meet the service programs as required by the company service department, making recommendations for status and/or salary adjustments through performance evaluations

* Maintains and advises the Branch Parts & Service Manager department employees status quo via employee evaluations

* Cooperates with service training manager; schedules shop servicemen for respective training classes and factory schools

* Supervises the operations of the branch service department in coordination with the Branch Parts & Service Manager

* Handles all incoming calls pertaining to service shop and information concerning customer inquiries regarding service work

* Communicates with customers by phone, personal field contact, or in store, with efforts to sell service

* Provides adequate reports as needed by the Branch Parts & Service Manager

* Initiates and closes all shop work orders as necessary and maintains any needed paperwork to work orders

* Works closely with Branch Parts & Service Manager in policy matters as pertains to the branch service operations

* Schedules service personnel for weekend, holiday and emergency service work

* Plans, formally and informally, long and short range, on equipment and facilities requirements; makes recommendations to the Branch Parts & Service Manager

* Consults with Branch Parts & Service Manager in reaching an agreement on annual service department budget requirements

* Maintains positive control on all house accounts and service accounts

* Conducts audits and follows correct procedures for expense accounts

* Audits and follows correct procedures in the procurement of service operation tools, supplies and tools

* Establishes and maintains close relationship with field and office personnel of Caterpillar in service related programs and problems

* Handles and executes warranties in the best interest of the company and works with the warranty specialist regarding special warranty situations

* Assists in factory field programs as required

* Maintains and executes good housekeeping and safety for the best possible image of the company

* Provides and maintains safety equipment as needed

* Other duties as assigned by manager

**Required Education and Experience:**

* High School Diploma or GED

* Some college or trade school

* 8 years in a responsible position within the heavy equipment service industry

* 3-5 years administrative/clerical experience

* 5+ years customer service experience

* 1-3 years sales experience

* 3-5 years supervisory/management experience

* 5+ years technical or mechanical experience

**Additional Eligibility Requirements:**

* Must pass all required pre-employment screenings which may include but are not limited to background checks, drug/alcohol testing, fit for duty testing, and any other job-related tests/screenings

**Pay Rate:** Starting at $61,959.98 annually
